Origin of Propolis


The Apiário Silvestre uses raw propolis, collected and selected in apiaries from the South of the State of Minas Gerais, to produce the alcoholic and glycolic extracts.

The propolis produced in some areas of Minas Gerais is called "Green Propolis". It has a high trade value and presents a therapeutic action known all around the world. (See Botanical Analysis of Propolis) (Botanical Origin)

This green propolis comes from a plant that invades other cultures and is popularly known as rosemary. Surveys that use microscopic methods to determine the origin of propolis got equal fragments of this plant in the sediments of propolis and in the histological cuts of the plant.
