Relation between bees and nature

The exchange of rewards guides the relations between plants and floral visitors, particularly bees. The flowers attract their pollinating agents offering them nutriments like nectar and pollen, assuring, this way, an effective pollination. The nectar and pollen of flowers are almost bees' single source of nutriment, since the larval until the adult phase.

Pollen naturally provides proteins, greases, vitamins, and mineral salts to the bees. It is the single source of nitrogenous nutriment to feed the larvae.

Nectar provides not only energy to the bees, but also material to be converted in greases and glycogen. It gives rise to honey, which contains an average constitution of carbohydrates corresponding to 76,4%.
